Kwitonda Lodge offers the Volcanoes experience without the ultra-luxury price premium. Eight spacious villas on the forest boundary above Kinigi village have wood-panelled interiors, fireplaces, and private decks overlooking the Virunga skyline. The lodge takes its name from the Kwitonda gorilla family — one of the habituated families accessible from Volcanoes National Park. The restaurant produces excellent Rwandan and international cuisine. The guiding and logistic team are experienced and efficient — morning briefings are precise and transfer to the park gates is swift. A lodge that punches above its price point.
