Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge sets the benchmark for accommodation in Bwindi. Eight standalone cottages on the forest rim each have a heated plunge pool — extraordinary after the exhaustion of a gorilla trek. Floor-to-ceiling glass fronts the forest and private decks extend over the canopy. The kitchen produces serious food: proper multi-course dinners with good African and international wines.
