Tarangire National Park

Giant baobab trees and more elephants than almost anywhere else in Tanzania.

Tarangire National Park is known for its old baobab trees and the Tarangire River, which pulls in large numbers of animals when the dry season hits. It has some of the biggest elephant herds anywhere in Tanzania, plus great birdlife and general game viewing.

It’s part of the northern circuit, close to Mto wa Mbu, and often visited alongside Manyara and Ngorongoro.
