Lake Manyara National Park

Tree-climbing lions, pink flamingos, and a lush green forest.

Lake Manyara National Park sits at the foot of the Rift Valley, next to the lake it’s named after. It’s known for flocks of pink flamingos, a green forest fed by underground springs, large herds of elephant, and lions that sometimes rest up in the trees.

It’s small enough to visit in half a day, and pairs well with a trip to Ngorongoro or Tarangire.
